Help with install -ni mate on Surface Book

#1

Hi
Any help or info or work around-s great appreciated
I’m having problems installing the software on the Surface Book i7

I have the kinect installed and running kinect studio but the Ni Mate software is not happy and throws the touchpad and keyboard off - suspect the Bluetooth as well.

I’ve gone thru an unsigned install - did not work ( and could not see the kinect any longer )
I’ve followed a previous threat on this forum and had the same result
I’ve done a permanent unsigned install - same same
I’ve tweak the reg as per the microsoft kinect surf book page

the only notable error i get is during the install , after the sdk comes down , driver tries to install - it fails the first time and then succeeds.

otherwise the install looks normal

Thanks in advance

If USB devices stop functioning the problem is probably with the USBDK installer. Try using a more recent one from here: https://github.com/daynix/UsbDk/releases/download/v1.00-19/UsbDk_1.0.19_x64.msi

Is this Kinect 1 or Kinect 2?

This is caused by your GPU / driver not supporting a particular extension. Disable GPU Texture Transfer in the Preferences -> General and restart NI mate.

You can read more about it here: Why does GPU texture transfer not work on my computer?
