No depth data showing up with kinect 360

#1

Hi!

I’m trying to hook up a kinect 360 model 1517 to z vector on mac osx. But nothing shows up and it keeps saying no depth data :frowning: Sensor is set to openNI, I tried to change a bunch of settings but I can’t get it to work. Kinect is plugged into USB2, and works fine with other programs. What am I doing wrong?

If I recall correctly, the 1517 (Kinect for Windows v1) is one of those devices that works with OpenNI2. If my memory serves me right, when PrimeSense made a deal with Microsoft, it involved Microsoft making a driver for their new Kinect for Windows v1 device for OpenNI2, but I think this only worked on Windows due to them using the Microsoft SDK.

OpenNI1 in Z Vector uses the old SensorKinect driver which I think only supports the models 1414 and 1473, out of which the 1473 is known to have problems on latest Mac versions.

Which software are you using with your Kinect on Mac? I’m guessing that software uses the libfreenect driver?
