Triggers MIDI and Controller Tracking

HI everybody. I hope all is ok for you.

I use a Kinect model 1414 on my Mac osX 10.13.1.
I use Ni-Mate Free version 2.14

  1. I can manage using my Kinect and the Ni-Mate Trigger MIDI function (green pads) to trig clips in Ableton LIVE.

  2. I can manage using my Kinect and the NI-Mate Controller Tracking function, for example to control faders in Ableton LIVE, depending to the distance between the Kinect and my body

… but I can’t using both 1) + 2) simultaneously …
=> is it impossible to do it with NI-Mate ?
=> is it impossible to do it with NI-Mate Free version (if yes would you accept to help me please…) but enabled with the Pro version ?

I’ve checked on the website, but because of my bad english undestanding it’s very difficult for me finding the answer.

Thanks a lot
Regards

Hello!

I tested this with the free trial and both messages outputted at the same time.

Here’s what the NI mate log window showed when I only had Controller enabled:

09:56:37: MIDI < Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth: ch=1 cc=2 msg=1

I mapped the “People” value to CC 2.

And here’s the log window for Controller and Trigger enabled:

09:56:42: MIDI < Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth: ch=1 cc=0 msg=0, ch=1 cc=0 msg=127, ch=1 cc=2 msg=2

CC0 is mapped to a trigger.

I recommend you verify that your output in the log window matches this, that is, verify that NI mate is outputting both types of messages.

Hi Jesse
What are your calling the “People” value please ?

Have a nice day

By “people” I refer to the “Number of people” field on the controller tracker UI.

Thanks for your message Jesse
